The Shorter Oxford English Dictionary defines a motor scooter is a motorcycle similar to a kick scooter with a seat, a floorboard, and small or low wheels. The US Department of Transportation defines a scooter as a motorcycle that has a platform for the operator’s feet or has integrated footrests, and has a step-through architecture.
The classic scooter design features a step-through frame and a flat floorboard for the rider’s feet. This design is possible because most scooter engines and drive systems are attached to the rear axle or under the seat. Unlike a conventional motorcycle, in which the engine is mounted on the frame, most modern scooters allow the engine to swing with the rear wheel, while most vintage scooters and some newer retro models have an axle-mounted engine. Modern scooters starting from late-1980s generally use a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while older ones use a manual transmission with the gearshift and clutch control built into the left handlebar.
Scooters usually feature bodywork, including a front leg shield and body that conceals all or most of the mechanicals. There is often some integral storage space, either under the seat, built into the front leg shield, or both. Scooters have varying engine displacements and configurations ranging from 50 cc single-cylinder to 850 cc twin-cylinder models.
Traditionally, scooter wheels are smaller than conventional motorcycle wheels and are made of pressed steel or cast aluminum alloy, bolt on easily, and often are interchangeable between front and rear. Some scooters carry a spare wheel. Many recent scooters use conventional front forks with the front axle fastened at both ends ducati multistrada superbike, aprilia, suzuki gsxr wallpaper, Motorcycle wallpapers, suzuki

Other changes to the VS800 included straighter bars with longer risers; the addition of four-way flashers; a one-piece seat; smaller turn signals; the deletion of the sissy bar; and the addition of a plastic fake air cleaner on the side of the engine (to hold the tool kit formerly stored in the sissy bar). But mechanically they are the same, and parts can be swapped between the Intruder 800 to the S50. The exception is that fake air cleaner, which screws to threaded holes in blocks cast into the cooling fins on the cylinders, which the Intruder 800 did not have.
As a side note, the VX800 standard/ naked sportbike was produced and sold in the US from 1991 to 1993. It used the same engine as the VS800 Intruder, only with a vacuum operated fuel pump instead of the Intruder?s electric one. The rest of the bike is totally different, but the engines interchange Motorcycle wallpapers#Wallpaper #Ktm #YamahaSuperbike #Motorbike #MotorbikeWallpaper

In the UK, Graham Beamish and his staff worked out the characteristics for the ideal enduro machine and sent them to Japan during the winter of 1975. On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, in 1975 US Suzuki requested John Morgan (who had been campaigning a modified TS250 with great success) to select three additional riders and compete in four National Enduros that year. Then in 1976, they continued to develop the PE250 and competed in a number of events with just one rider, Teddy Worrell, who did quite well. The next year, 1977, was the start of Team Suzuki, which competed in National Enduros and IDSE Qualifiers and the US team went to the ISDT in Czechoslovakia (widely considered one of the toughest ISDT events ever) with three riders comprising Teddy Worrell, Dave Hulse and Bruce Kenny. This left John Morgan and mechanic Aki Goto to address DNF’s due to ring seizures on all three machine
