Although the 2013 model has since proved itself, it had a somewhat shaky start. In the UK, the R1200GS has been subject to various DVSA vehicle recalls covering the front brakes, anti-lock braking system, throttle cable, fuel pump, clutch, final drive assembly, brake pipes, and gearbox; and similar recalls have been issued in other countries. Early journalistic reports described the bike as having a front end “head shake” or speed wobble, and deliveries of the motorcycle were halted while BMW revised the front end geometry.
For the 2014 through 2016 model years, there were incremental annual updates, including adjustments to road handling, and adding options such as LED headlights, keyless ignition, a quickshifter, an anti-theft system, and another lower seat option. A new ABS mode available as a software update allows safer braking while cornering.
For the 2017 model year, the bike was given a facelift, with technical changes to meet European EU4 regulations. Side reflectors and an on-board diagnostic (OBD) indicator light in the cockpit to indicate a malfunction were added. Like the R1200GS Adventure, all liquid-cooled boxer models were given a damper on the transmission output shaft. The selector drum actuator, transmission shafts and transmission shaft bearing were revised. The GS was also given a new crash bar option, allowing cylinder protection covers to be mounted, as had been standard on the Adventure buell motorcycle, motorbike backgrounds, suzuki gsxr, Motorcycle wallpapers, ducati wallpaper
(Motorcycle)Suzuki V-Strom 650 Motorcycle
The Suzuki V-Strom 650 (DL650) is a mid-weight, sport touring motorcycle launched in 2004 with a standard riding posture, fuel injection and an aluminum chassis ? now in its third generation since model year 2017. Marketed in Europe, Oceania, the Americas, and since 2018, India, the DL650 is manufactured at Suzuki’s ISO 14001 certified final assembly plant in Toyokawa, Japan.
The V-Strom 650 trades strength in a single area for adaptability to a variety of riding conditions: commuting, cruising, adventure touring, and to a lesser degree, off-road riding. The bike is variously categorized as dual sport, sport enduro tourer, street/adventure, commuter, or entry-level.
According to the New York Times, the V-Strom has a loyal following worldwide, and the DL650 outsells Suzuki’s larger DL1000 two-to-one.
The name V-Strom combines V, referring to the bike’s V engine configuration, with the German word strom, meaning stream or current Motorcycle wallpapers#HarleyWallpaper #ApriliaMotorcycles #HondaSuperbike #KtmWallpaper #MotorbikeWallpaper
(Motorcycle)Suzuki GS series Motorcycle
The original GS designs share common engine design elements of air-cooling, roller bearing crankshafts, two-valves per cylinder servicing a hemispherical combustion chambers with domed pistons and double overhead camshafts (DOHC) operating directly on shim and bucket tappets. In 1980 the first major upgrading of the 750cc and 1000cc machines with 16-valve (four valves per cylinder) heads with the valves being actuated though short forked rockers, and the enlargement of the litre bike to 1100cc (actually 1074cc). The new heads incorporated Suzuki’s Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber (TSCC) technology and machines sporting the new technology were designated as GSX models in Japan, Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and many other markets, differentiating them from their two-valve per cylinder stable mates. In the Americas the GS code continued to be used for both four and two valve per cylinder machines. The 750 engine also received a plain bearing crankshaft and higher geared oil pump to increase oil pressure to the crank. The 8-valve 650cc engine (actually 673cc) also got plain bearings and marked the transition from two-stroke origins of the design and facilitated the move to air-oil cooling.
The introduction of air-oil cooling via large radiators known as SACS in the road-going Suzuki motorcycle demarcated the GS/GSX machines from the new technology of the GSX-R machines, however this distinction is blurred somewhat by later models such as the GS1200SS which used the SACS equipped GSF1200 Bandit engine
